Leaving the headquarters of Fedecocagua R.L. in zone 5 of Guatemala City, we take the Pan-American CA-1 to the Encuentros, from there we go to Chichicastenango, Santa Cruz de Quiché, Sacapulas, Nebaj to reach Chajul. Google maps tells us that they are 264 km and the trip takes 6 hours and 8 minutes. But we haven't reached our goal yet!

From Chajul we continue on a dirt road that according to the season is not in good condition. It was the company that runs the Xacbal hydroelectric that extended this road when they were building and then expanding their work. Now it is up to the neighbors and the Municipality of Chajul to improve it whenever possible. Depending on the type of car and the weather conditions, it is necessary to count between two and three hours to reach the village of Estrella Polar.
